Enhancing VSMA's Digital Presence

VSMA is a financial management company based in Melbourne, providing a range of services including retirement planning, money management, financial planning, and tax minimisation. They approached Straightforward Digital to enhance their website and improve client engagement.

The problem

During our discovery session with VSMA, we discovered three main issues with their existing website:

  1. Low enquiries and leads: They were receiving very few enquiries or leads via their contact form.
  2. Poor communication of services: The website did not effectively communicate their services in a easy-to-understand way.
  3. Outdated design: The design did not look modern and didn’t align with the high quality service they offer their clients.

These issues had resulted in potential clients losing trust in the company during the sales process, ultimately resulting in lost sales & opportunities.

The solution

We worked closely with VSMA to address these issues through a comprehensive redesign and strategic improvements:

  1. Audience-centric copywriting: We identified their audiences needs, and wrote copy that spoke directly to them.
  2. Improved website navigation: We improved the navigation to help users easily learn about the different services offered by VSMA.
  3. Modern, professional design: We built a website with a modern design that more accurately portrayed the high quality of service offered by VSMA.

Challenges

During the project, we encountered the challenge of organising the numerous financial services VSMA offers without creating a confusing user experience. Services such as retirement planning, money management, financial planning, and tax minimisation needed to be clearly communicated to different client types.

After doing a discovery session with the VSMA team, we identified there were fundamentally two types of clients:

  1. Individuals seeking financial stability: Those looking to get their finances to a healthy baseline (eg. get out of debt)
  2. Individuals seeking financial growth: Those with their finances in order, but looking for smarter investment advice.

Based on this, we divided the services into these two core groups. This allowed website users to easily navigate to the services relevant to them, reducing the risk of feeling overwhelmed by irrelevant information.

Results

  • Enhanced Client Trust and Sales: The redesigned website made it easier for potential clients to navigate and clearly understand VSMA’s services. This improved communication helped the sales team build more trust with potential clients, resulting in an increase in closed sales.
  • Increased Enquiries and Leads: The new design led to a significant increase in leads and enquiries through the website, providing many more opportunities for the sales staff.
